Don't Worry, Be Thankful

How much of our time is consumed with thoughts of worry? Worrying about bills, family, relationships, work, to do lists, money, and the list goes on. I find myself worrying quite a bit of my day away at times. All these things in my life that I choose to worry about are all things that have a blessing in there somewhere that I can be thankful for. When I stress about situations at work, I should instead be thankful for the job God has provided me with. It's a job that I am able to do, and it provides food and shelter for my family. When I am stressed about my bills and how they will be paid, I should instead remember all the times that God has gotten me through the same situation before. I look at how blessed I am, and I am truly ashamed that I spend so much time worrying about things that God's word says he will take care of for me. I chose verses from Matthew chapter six where Jesus speaks about considering the lilies and how God provides for them and all their needs. God loves me much more than those flowers, so I know he will take care of my needs. I desire to change my outlook from anxiety filled to a spirit full of thanksgiving for what the Lord has done for me. I included the verse Pslam 107:1 in this lesson about being thankful because God is good and merciful. He has truly been so good to me, I could praise him forever!
